RUN-UP is a project run by and for people with lived experience of mental health illness, for service users & their carers in Redbridge and surrounding boroughs.
The project represents a collective campaigning voice for better mental health services. We challenge stigma & discrimination and actively promote mental health awareness and well-being.
Our Services:
Workshops
We deliver a variety of workshops to support mental health and well-being and focus groups around a variety of issues that are important to the people we support. Latest information can be found in the monthly newsletter.
Recent workshops have include topics on Anxiety Matters, Clearing your Space, Health Groups, Benefits, Social Services, Cost of Living, Housing and Debt.
Calming the Mind & Body
Runs monthly online on the last Saturday of each month
These sessions introduce the basics of the biological and emotional impact stress has on the mind and body, to help participants to recognise, track and relieve their body’s stress response.
These unique and popular online sessions offer gentle somatic practice to help reduce pain and tension, calm your mind, to relax your body and soothe your nervous system.
They are suitable for anyone suffering from overwhelm, anxiety, depression, burn out, PTSD, chronic health conditions, or just wanting to fully relax, unwind and connect with yourself and others.
Recovery Focus Group
Runs weekly on Wednesday evenings, online from 6pm-8pm
An educational peer group supporting those who are suffering from the impact of stress and trauma on physical/mental health and wellbeing.
Connect with likeminded others in a safe space, to reflect on your life circumstances from a trauma informed lens, learn strategies to support yourself and help manage symptoms of stress.
These sessions consist of a variety of trauma related topics, videos, discussion, nervous system regulation techniques and a reflection circle to close.
Service User Network (SUN) Meetings
Runs monthly on Mondays, online/in person from 6.00pm-7.30pm
These lively interactive sessions are offered monthly with guest speakers on common interests,.
Suitable for anyone interested in what we can do to support mental health and wellbeing.
