Ilford community grocery shop chain opens where families can do large food shop for £4
A community shop chain has opened its branch in Ilford today (March 28) to help struggling residents “some respite from the present economic challenges”. Community Grocery opened its doors at the City Gates Church, on Clements Road, where families can have access to a wide range of affordable supermarket products for £4 per visit.
Items include fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned goods, baked items, frozen food, sanitary and household items. According to the website, customers have to become a yearly member for £5 before doing their £4 shopping spree.
